PHISIOTERAPEUTIC INTERVENTION IN CHILDREN WITH ASTHMA - A CASE REPORT

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by airway hyperresponsiveness below. Physiotherapy is an integral part of treatment in this disease, indicated in times of crisis as in the periods between episodes. The objective of this report is to present the results of a program of physical therapy for a child with asthma. A 12-year-old male diagnosed with asthma was treated with physical therapy monitoring in the extension program Playing and Breathing. It included bronchial hygiene, respiratory muscle training, breathing awareness, postural education and guidance. The treatment of physiotherapy guaranteed stabilization as well as the improvement of cardiorespiratory parameters and spirometry, with gains of up to 32%. It is concluded that outpatient physical therapy monitoring can provide clinical improvement in child with asthma.Downloads
