Abstract

This study seeks to understand the profile of the producers of guarana in Alta Floresta, who faces the challenge of promoting the development of this activity taking into account the sustainability of familiar production. The results indicate that, at the current moment, the city does not have enough information about the producers and the agricultural production as well as its localization and profit. Besides that, there is some distancing between the ones that produce guarana and agencies of assistance. In the other hand, the results also indicate that the city has a good production volume and it is an important source of job and income; that the familiar agriculturist are responsible for the production and that the whole city production is delivered to intermediaries, without minimum processing.
