EXPERIENCE REPORT: SCIENCES AND BIOLOGY TEACHERS INITIAL QUALIFICATION AND CONTINUOUS DEVELOPMENT

The article describes the experiences of a university extension project, aimed at initial qualification and continuing professional development for teachers of sciences and biology which was funded by the government of the state of Paraná program University Without Borders (USF). The project started in July 2013 and lasted 12 months; it was structured with the primary goal of providing continuous education to general education teachers in the region of União da Vitória- PR. Most activities were developed at the institution of higher education UNESPAR, campus União da Vitória-PR. Among the activities, the team produced a biology textbook and a course offered to teachers in the region, focusing different teaching methodologies, called “Biology Without Borders”. In this report, the reader will get to know the actions taken during the project and the teachers’ perspectives in relation to ongoing training in sciences and biology.Downloads
