This article reports the actions of the time-bound outreach project called Mapping the Slavic Culture in the South of Paraná: Database of Linguistic Variation of Slavic Speech (VARLINFE in the Portuguese acronym) linked to the permanent outreach program Slavic Studies Center – (NEES in the Portuguese acronym) from the Midwest State University – UNICENTRO. The VARLINFE database was fed according to the Labovian Quantitative Sociolinguistic framework (WEINREICH; LABOV and HERZOG, 2006; LABOV, 2008) and includes the speech of the following cities: Irati, Ivaí, Mallet, Rebouças, Rprofessora io Azul, and Prudentópolis. This database will enable future studies about the contributions and influences of the Slavic ethnicity on the Portuguese spoken in the Southern region of Paraná and on the Brazilian Portuguese outside the large urban centers.Downloads
