The sport of fighting is part of the body culture, acquiring even more relevant proportions when combined with targeted health and training values. The article presents the proposal of the "Physical Aptitude Laboratory Outreach Program" developed at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), through the "Martial Arts Project." Started in 2011, the project focuses on the development and democratization of educational sports, involving about 200 students, of both sexes, every six months, through daily and free offer of combat sports. The project has gained significant progress in terms of university extension. Methodologically, it provides a pedagogical approach to teaching combat sports combined with complementary actions oriented to health, in two to four weekly meetings. The results presented reinforce the growth in the teaching-research-extension relationship, considering that this initiative is adding and generating new scientific knowledge on the impact of sport and leisure offer to the university public.Downloads
