ORGANIZATIONAL KNOWLEDGE FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF EXTENSION AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES OF THE JOÃO PESSOA CAMPUS – IFPB

This study analyzes organizational knowledge in extension activities at the Federal Institute of Paraíba (IFPB), João Pessoa campus, and its impact on strategic decisions. Organizational knowledge management is a topic little explored in Brazil, especially in public organizations, so the research aims to contribute to filling this gap, exploring extension as a strategic tool. Using a mixed methodological approach, combining quantitative and qualitative analysis, extension and cultural activities completed between 2014 and 2023 were analyzed, considering main productions, types of actions and strategic focuses. Data collection involved documentary analysis, with treatment using Content Analysis and Statistics. The research concluded that extension activities are aligned with community needs and academic demands, standing out for their social relevance and local adaptation. Thus, the study reinforces the importance of strategically using the knowledge generated in extension practices to improve management and decision-making in the institution.
