Abstract

This article aims to expose the primary paths and challenges for academic-scientific and/or technical-professional work in/of the relationship between Linguistics and Law. First, three main paths are identified and distinguished in the definition of linguistic-legal objects: Forensic Linguistics; speech-in-interaction and discourse analysis in a legal context; and Linguistic Rights. Based on this identification, we highlight possibly faced challenges and, finally, we reflect on a class issue: how to occupy the place of the "linguist" in the possible works in/of the relationship between Linguistics and Law.
