Abstract: The main goal of this paper is to present suggestions of activities for the teaching ofdissertative-argumentative texts focusing on linguistic analysis. The analysis is supported by the
socio-interactionist conception of language. In order to do so, a historical survey about the teaching
of Portuguese is presented as well as a discussion about the teaching of the discursive genres, based
on Educational Curricular Guidelines of Paraná State and authors such as Luiz Antonio Marcuschi,
Irandé Antunes and Maria Aparecida Garcia Lopes-Rossi. The paper presents the activities designed
for students of the third grade of high school and also the outcomes of the activities.
