Abstract

E-commerce or electronic commerce, refers to any kind of commercial transaction conducted electronically on the internet. The constant growth of this modality is associated with the great technological development and people’s necessity to connect themselves online. The main objective of this work is to analyze the e-commerce scenario during the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, it was necessary to explain how e-commerce has grown in Brazil and in the world in the last years, to identify the main reasons for investing in e-commerce during the pandemic, and to study the increase of online sales in Brazil. The methodology applied in this work was the documentary and bibliographic research, using a qualitative and quantitative exploratory approach. The results state a change in the habits and routine of the population to adapt to the restrictive measures due to COVID-19 During this period, e-commerce growth intensified due to its practicality as well as safety and health issues.
