ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION IN AN EXTENSION PROJECT: THE CONTRIBUTION TO THE SCHOLARSHIP HOLDERS’ TRAINING IN THE CONTEXT OF PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL EDUCATION

This study aims to identify and present the contributions of the extension project “E-trash: disposal, reuse and environmental education actions" of Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS, Brazilian abbreviation) - Campus Sertão, to the scholarship holders’ training. Thus, based on a qualitative and quantitative approach, conducted from bibliographical and documentary research, it a) deals with the extension project as part of a policy of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul; b) the extension project “E-trash extension project: disposal, reuse and environmental education actions” and c) analyzes the experience of scholarship holders, the learning and the contributions at Professional and Technological Education. The results indicate that the project contributed significantly to human formation, professional training as well as to the development of important skills and competences.
