The use of Information Technology (IT) in university outreach actions has grown currently; however, having IT tools does not guarantee a successful action through them. It is necessary to have methodologies that help those taking part in outreach activities to take better advantage of tools or resources, to create an environment in which they become protagonists and not simple IT absorbers. Based on this need, Gestaltism was applied as a method aiming to provide the participants with various resources to be created, developed and programmed while working on the activities, based on their personal needs and their worldviews. Based on three applications of this methodology in three different outreach classes, an increase in motivation was observed in the participants’ effort to absorb new knowledge with an IT tool that was built based on their own needs using Gestalt techniques. Therefore, this method was seen to reduce reactivities when introducing Information Technology in outreach actions.
