Abstract

The objective of this article is to understand the meaning of sport for health, from the perspective of female soccer players impacted by the transposition of the São Francisco River, in the Sertão of Pernambuco. Born in the wanderings and extension actions of the TransVERgente Extension Program, this is a cartographic and phenomenological qualitative research. The modality of intervention/research was the “Roda de Conversação”. The participant-collaborators were seven peasant women, soccer players from the community of Sítio Cipó, Sertânia/PE. Critelli's Analytics of Sense was the method of analysis. The narratives revealed that the practice of football for health corresponds to the therapeutic experience, health promotion and ways of existing in daily life in the rural community. In addition, the search for guarantee of rights emerged from community mobilization as a political action of peasant women soccer players in the face of transposition and gender violence.
