MOSTRAS CIENTÍFICAS COMO FERRAMENTA DE DIVULGAÇÃO NO MUNICÍPIO DE PORTO NACIONAL, TO: UMA EXPERIÊNCIA COM A COLEÇÃO DIDÁTICA DE VERTEBRADOS

Abstract

The Laboratory of Zoology and Comparative Anatomy of Vertebrates (LabZoo) of the University of Tocantins (UFT), campus Porto Nacional (CPN), hosts a didactic collection of vertebrates. As part of the scientific dissemination and university extension, the didactic collection attracts a diversified public, as well as promoting partnerships with municipality schools. Through the extension project "Tools for scientific dissemination in ichthyology and conservation of the Tocantins-Araguaia River basin", scientific exhibitions of the didactic collection were held at the CPN, in schools and in public places in the municipality, aiming to present the diversity of the ichthyofauna and other vertebrates. The project resulted in the participation of several students and the general public, totaling about 650 people. As an external evaluation, a form was carried out for the teachers responsible for the classes, in which was highlighted the importance of the action for the democratization of knowledge and the popularization of science, besides attracting young students to the university.
