UNIVERSITY EXTENSION AS AN ARTICULATOR OF TEACHING-SERVICE-MANAGEMENT INTEGRATION IN PATIENT SAFETY

Abstract

The objective is to describe the implementation process and the first actions of the Center for Quality and Patient Safety in the interface of university extension in the integration of teaching-service-management from the perspective of key informants. This is a case study that reflects the partnership between the Office of Quality for Health Organizations extension program and a public hospital in the mid-north region of Mato Grosso. Interviews with eight participants were analyzed by thematic analysis, and two categories emerged: Aspects that contributed to the creation of the center and The interface of teaching-service integration, which were discussed from the perspective of the critical-reflexive pedagogical conception. The results expose influence, motivation and implementation process, as well as the contribution of practice scenarios to students. It is concluded that the support of the management and the interface in the teaching-service interaction cooperated to achieve the implementation.
