The possibilities and challenges of working in Early Childhood Education based on Physical Education knowledge: an experience report from the XXXX Extension Project

Abstract

The objective of this experience report was to report and analyze the pedagogical work positive points and difficulties with children in Early Childhood Education groups served by the extension project XXXX. This project's purpose is to build and implement pedagogical practices based on Physical Education knowledge articulated with Early Childhood Education knowledge for children in municipal schools, which offer daycare and preschool in the city of Rio Grande - RS. The data in this report come from the seminar to disseminate and evaluate the project's actions, which took place in 2023. The results reveal, especially as positive points, the extensionists' approximation to the Early Childhood Education reality and the increase in the motor repertoire of the children group served and, as challenges, the infrastructure lack in the schools to carry out the games and the knowledge lack of some extensionists regarding the children characteristics.
