Abstract

The Outreach Project “People With Albinism and the Right to Health: Public Visibility and Recognition” (OPPARH) assembles, systematizes, and disseminates knowledge by and for people with albinism (PA) in light of their health needs and social (in-)visibility. As a pandemic consequence, it started its activities on social media, reformulating its visual identity (VI) in 2021, defined as the imagery differentiation of an institution. This paper aims to present OPPARH’s VI components and elucidate the operationalization of health promotion (HP) actions by and for PA. Methodologically, it’s an experience report, descriptively and documentarily structured around the creation of OPPARH’s digital media. As a result, it arranges the primary, secondary, and accessory elements from the VI, assigning symbolic values to them, and it depicts the creation process alongside the PA’s social movement. It infers that OPPARH’s interdisciplinary appropriation from design contributes to HP’s intersectoriality and promotes PA’s social inclusion.
