People with neurological dysfunction experience disabilities and physical, sensory, cognitive, and psychiatric symptoms, as well as situations of social isolation and rights violations. Therefore, they require assistance from a comprehensive perspective. This article reports on the experience of the extension project “Activity and Socialization Group: Expanding the Participation of People with Disabilities in Social Life,” developed with individuals with neurological dysfunction at a specialized rehabilitation center. Based on Community-Based Rehabilitation and using a collaborative methodology, the project involved expressive, artistic, and festive activities, as well as games and group dynamics. The interactions and shared experiences fostered the creation and strengthening of a support network, autonomy, socialization, a sense of belonging, affective exchanges, and healthcare support. The results reaffirm that group interventions are effective strategies in occupational therapy practice for promoting health, social participation, and quality of life.
