Abstract

This study evaluates public dome sessions conducted as part of the “Planetário da UFSJ” extension program between May 2022 and March 2024. The research, of an exploratory nature and qualitative approach, was based on an online questionnaire answered by 202 participants to analyze the audience profile, interest and knowledge in astronomy, and perception of the planetarium experience. The results indicate high satisfaction, highlighting the team’s hospitality, interaction with the planetarium presenters, and the activity’s contribution to astronomical learning. The findings reinforce the importance of university extension in popularizing and democratizing scientific knowledge in planetariums, as well as pointing to new research opportunities in the field.
