PROPELLING ELEMENTS TO RETHINK EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES IN DSTs AND HIV/AIDS

The main goal of the project is to develop studies aiming at creating new strategies to carry out actions in health education which has as their central axis the aspects related to prevention and health promotion, specifically in the area of STDs and HIV/AIDS. For achieving this goal the activities were divided into two parts intrinsically related. One is related to qualify human resources through innovative methodology which consists of workshops about experiences and thematic issues as well as different supervision models. The other one is related to the development of thematic approaches to the participants. The findings are as follows: to outline the population profile; to organize waiting-room groups in different formats, which have as their raw material the social representations of its population; to build up new knowledge and practices, and to consolidate assistance, teaching, research and extension at Policlínica Piquet Carneiro.
