Abstract

The objective of this article is to present the conceptions about Sexual Education of young people who were former participants of the extension project “Way there?! Sexual education in secondary education", focused on issues of sexual education, the result of a research with a qualitative approach. Initially, electronic articles published between 2018 and 2022 and documents related to sex education were raised. As an instrument, a questionnaire was prepared in the online form mode, answered by former participants of the extension project “And there?! Sexual Education in High School”, which focuses on healthy sexuality among adolescents from two state public schools. 17 young people responded to the instrument. The responses were analyzed and we concluded that Sexual Education, in addition to the content teaching of STI/HIV and pregnancy prevention, involving reflective activities aimed at building sexual autonomy, has actually shown to have a positive impact on how the participants of this extension project and students deal with their own sexuality and self-care
