This is an experience report in which the virtual Conversation Wheel was used in the period of April 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. This experience was the result of the extension project “Attention in gynecological nursing: a proposal for university extension”, with the objective of highlighting the importance of breast cancer prevention. Two meetings were held with lectures given by nurses working in a reference center and oncology unit in the interior of Bahia, in addition to the participation of women invited to report on their cancer experiences. The activity involved academics, health professionals and the general community. It was possible to identify how much university extension allows the sharing of experiences and enrichment of knowledge between the academic community and society, in order to contribute to the quality of life of women through prevention practices and health promotion.
