O ANIMAL COMO SIGNO POLÍTICO EM CAMPO EXPANSIVO EM “A METAMORFOSE” DE FRANZ KAFKA E “MEU TIO O IAUARETÊ” DE GUIMARÃES ROSA

Abstract

The literature presents, mainly in the beginning of the 20th century, with Franz Kafka, the reconfiguration of the animal-human relationship through animal figures that are located outside the circumscription of anthropocentrism, being a new way of understanding the animal and its manifestation (MACIEL, 2016). In a Latin American context, specifically from the 1960s onwards, the animal presents itself as an expansive field that expands the horizons of politicization in destabilizing the distance from the human (GIORGI, 2016). The objective of this paper is to present an experiment in reading, in the terms proposed by Deleuze and Guattari (1975), of “The metamorphosis” by Franz Kafka and “Meu tio o Iauaretê” by João Guimarães Rosa, mainly in the themes of becoming-animal (DELEUZE; GUATTARI, 1997) and the political construction of the characters who play a main role in the literary texts indicated here, considering that the Kafkaesque insect and the Rosean jaguars are projected as becoming-animal distinct from man in the face of the (im)possibility of rebellion and alliance with the animal (GIORGI, 2016). As theoretical-methodological assumptions, we use the considerations of Giorgi (2016), Agamben (2017), Deleuze and Guattari (1975; 1995; 1997), Derrida (2002), Galvão (2008) and Maciel (2016).
