Abstract

This paper aims to present a feminist approach to the concept of communication form, from the discussion of the social foundations of media patriarchy. To this end, an approximation will be produced between conceptual discussions present in César Bolaño's Political Economy of Communication and Roswitha Scholz's feminist theories, with her concept of “value dissociation” and by Silvia Federici on the sexual division of labor from the overthrow women's history. Next, it will be discussed the concept of media patriarchy according to Ana Veloso. The crucial question then seeks to prompt reflection on how the categories of patriarchal oppression are a structuring movement of capitalism and are therefore present in the form-communication.

Keywords: Media Patriarchy. Communication Form. Value Dissociation.
