BRAZILIAN ACADEMIC PRODUCTION ON THE INTERFACE OF INCARCERATION WITH PUBLIC POLICIES AND SOCIAL SERVICE
Abstract
The incarceration of the black population is one of the most perverse effects of structural racism in Brazil. Given this historical project, the present research aims to draw an overview of the Brazilian academic production of theses and dissertations on the interface between incarceration and public incarceration. This is a qualitative, exploratory research that has a bibliographic nature and which was developed through a survey of the categories in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations, followed by the phase of qualitative analysis of the categories and incarceration, public policies and social service. The results indicate a set of questions about ethics, training and professional performance in public policies and in the socio-juridical area, confirming the insertion of Social Work within the research theme. It was also verified that structural racism was not explicitly addressed in the productions.
