Abstract

The virtual environment ends up, being a sophisticated environment for measuring interactions in contemporary times, especially , in a world connected by technologies. The data presented are based on qualitative research in progress since 2017 on prison and incarceration, we chose for analysis proposed in the scope of this article two events with wide repercussion in digital social networks:the 27 years of the massacre do Carandiru, which this year will be 30 years old, and also the imprisonment during the Covid-19 pandemic. The results point to the fact that the expansion of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) has brought agressive changes to human interactions and relationships, allowing ordinary people to actively participate in the production process and information flow, due to the growing increase in connectivity and interaction. , and, in this sense, that digital social networks are also presented and projected as an environment for the anchoring of stigma and prejudice in relation to prison and incarcerated bodies in Brazilian society .
