INDUSTRY AND ECONOMIC GROWTH OF THE PARANÁ’S MUNICIPALITIES

A SPACIAL ANALYSIS

Abstract

Theoretically, industrialization introduces as an important implement to encourage the economic growth of one region, in virtue of your strong chaining upstream and/or downstream in the economic activity. In this work searched analyze the industry importance in the economic dynamism process of Paranaenses cities in 2014, through spatial econometrics. As a result, there has been the concentration of industry and GDP (Gross Domestic Product) per capita participation along the state. Furthermore, the estimations showed that industry participation possessed a positive effect and was statistically significant, so that the increase of industry added value raised, on average, the GDP per capita of Paranaenses cities, ceterius paribus. Therefore, politics aimed at to industrialization are essential to stimulate the economic growth of the state’s municipalities.
