The development of digital technologies favors the construction of knowledge in an innovative way and those technologies can then empower populations that are distant from large urban centers. Therefore, the objective of this article was to present experiences with young people from public schools in the countryside of Piauí in interaction with the web radio AJIR, located in the capital of Ceará. It is an action research paper from the extension project Web Care for Childhood and Youth in Schools developed between March 2015 and March 2017 with 120 students. The extension project provided opportunities for dynamic debates on varied themes, among which the culture of peace was the most discussed one. In addition, the project helped the development of university students, as health promoters. The results led to the conclusion that interacting and using Webradio provided the participants with an effective technology for disseminating information and discussing topics that are not commonly discussed in schools, allowing them to build dynamic and collective knowledge.
