Within the scope of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), this study explores the challenges faced by Physical Education teachers at the Ibero-American Congress on Technologies and Media in Physical Education (CITMEF). In line with the demands of the pandemic scenario, the event served as an extension initiative aimed at fostering knowledge among Basic Education teachers in Ibero-America. Employing a descriptive and qualitative approach, the methodology utilized questionnaires as an assessment tool, analyzing 98 responses after excluding 17 unrelated to the topic. The study identified, within the dimensions of teaching practice, three barriers to the integration of ICTs in the classroom: 1. Organizational barriers; 2. Personal barriers; and 3. Pedagogical barriers. We conclude by emphasizing the significance of extension projects in strengthening the connection between the university and the teaching community, along with proposing strategies to overcome these barriers as themes for future event editions.
