Abstract

Goal. To understand the learning experience of former extension workers about transpersonal care carried out through musical visits to families in the context of hospitalization. Method. Descriptive qualitative study, based on Kolb's Experiential Learning Theory. The setting was a federal institution in the interior of Bahia, in the context of university extension: Agrupamento Mobilizador de Acolhimento, aimed at transpersonal care for families in the hospital environment. 12 project graduates were interviewed, and their reports were subjected to thematic content analysis. Results. They stated that musical care triggers a reflective process of self-knowledge, mediated by feelings and spirituality touched upon in the learner, so that music provides them with a more empathetic interaction with the transpersonal needs of others, mobilizing the development of socio-emotional care skills, only learned in experience. Final considerations. The experience converged into a differentiated learning process built by transformations converging on a significant relationship of transpersonal human care.
