The UFSCurso has existed since 2009, when the UFSCar Araras campus began to offer undergraduate courses in chemistry, physics and biology, however, since the beginning, the scholarship holders of the activity come from all courses on this campus, which include a bachelor's degree in agronomy, agroecology and biotechnology. Also, since its inception, the extension activity has a formative character, both for students who graduate with the aim of entering public higher education, as well as for scholarship professors and coordinators. These formative processes are possible through an understanding of extension as communication, according to Paulo Freire's ideas. Thus, it was possible to constitute data and interpret them with a view to understanding the formative potential of this activity, elements that are proposed in this work, which comprises discussions of the most recent period of validity of the UFSCurso, between the years 2018 to 2023.
