This article presents the extension project “Public Policies, Citizenship and Collaborative Actions” in order to highlight the contributions of this extension practice to the development of competencies, skills and attitudes in the training process of students on the Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy Management at UFRN. The methodological design is based on a qualitative research approach, with descriptive and interpretive accounts of the development of the project with the community of the União do Povo State School, in Natal/RN. The actions undertaken in a dialogical way promoted communication about sport, sustainability and citizenship, involving actors from the school community, the university and the public authorities. The knowledge developed during the extension project was essential for training future public policy managers. These skills include adaptive leadership and the ability to articulate dialogical attitude, reaffirming the role of these professionals in social transformation and guaranteeing citizenship through the implementation of public policies.
