Abstract

The work seeks to reflect on the performance of school education in the construction, re - signification and maintenance of the way of life of the indigenous Amazonian peoples. The aim is to analyze the case of the Baniwa Coripaco Pamáali Indigenous School, located in Alto do Rio Negro / AM, which was built to form young Baniwa and Coripaco with a project that values ​​traditional knowledge while teaching to master Western knowledge in order to use it in the search of rights for the community. The work was carried out through written ethnographies on the construction and daily life of the school. Differentiated education; indigenous schools; traditional knowledge.
