Coronavirus and educational inequalities: repositioning the debate

Abstract

The essay exposes some questions and notes about the impact of the new coronavirus on educational processes, with special attention to the deepening of educational inequalities in situations of global emergency. It seeks to tension both the strategies adopted by educational institutions, with the predominance of technological mediations and the use of digital tools, and the challenges of educating democratically in the current context. Finally, we ask: what is the role and what are the limits of distance education practices in a country marked by structural inequalities?
