Attention authors for the complete filling of their metadata

2020-02-05

Authors should be aware that when filling in their name, they should reserve the last field for their last name only, except Spanish-speaking authors who use compound last names. Thus, in the example, 'Maria das Dores Sampaio Correia', follow how you would like to be indexed, which can be Correia (last name) and Maria das Dores Sampaio (first name). Authors with very common surnames may wish to stand out by using the apostrophe if any, or an adjunct surname, thus 'Da Silva' and 'Brauer dos Santos' are acceptable surnames, as long as the author is known that way in academia. Also, only authors who choose to use a social name should fill in the field 'how they prefer to be called', otherwise leave it blank.

In the field 'institution', fill in completely as follows: Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, UFU, Monte Carmelo, MG, Brazil. This avoids the author is linked to one campus when he/she actually works in another. We do not highlight specific departments or laboratories. Put it in a footnote in the text if this is essential. Finally, it is important that the author completes and validates his or her Orcid before continuing the submission.
