Abstract

Landscape compartmentalization through shapes is defined by relief.
The analysis of rocky substrate and soils integrate information of land use and
occupation is fundamental to understand geomorphological dynamics and assist in
the management and planning of agricultural and urban areas. This paper aims at
the geoenvironmental compartmentalization of the São Vicente do Sul municipality,
through combinations of elements in a GIS environment. The study identifies four
units and five subunits geoenvironmental defined: Floodplain Units subdivided into
Ibicuí floodplain, Jaguari floodplain, Toropi floodplain; Hills Unit divided into Hills
with fields and crops and Hills with forestry; Cerros of the São Vicente do Sul resulting
from the regressive erosion, and Urban Unit.

Luís Eduardo de Souza Robaina, Universidade Federal de Santa Maria

Possui graduação em Geologia pela Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (1984), mestrado em Geociências pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1990), doutorado em Geociências pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1999) e Pós-Doutorado na Universidade do Porto, Portugal e na Universidade du Maine, Le Mans/França. Atualmente é professor/pesquisador colaborador do programa de pós-graduação em geografia da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul e professor titular da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, do curso de geografia e do programa de Pós-graduação em geografia e geociências. Tem experiência na área de Geociências, com ênfase em estudos geomorfológicos, geoambientais e de desastres naturais.

Romario Trentin, Universidade Federal de Santa Maria

Possui Graduação em Geografia Licenciatura pela Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (2004), Mestrado em Geografia pela Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (2007) e Doutorado em Geografia pela Universidade Federal do Paraná (2011). Atualmente, é Professor Adjunto da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. Tem experiência na área de Geociências, com ênfase em Geotecnologias, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Bacia Hidrografica, Arenização, Geomorfologia, Uso e Ocupação da Terra, Caracterização Geoambiental e Áreas de Risco.
