Abstract

This paper is an assessment of scientific literature on the subject of “faxinais”, a land use form that involves traditional communities in southern Brazil. For this purpose, an electronic database (Faxinais wordpress) has been created in the Internet, with 60 scientific papers. Each article has been reviewed with the aim of establishing parameters for the scientific production in the area, research institutions involved, and issues addressed by the researchers, among others.
