Abstract

The University is increasingly connected with the demands of society, seeking to transform reality by encouraging the protagonism of subjects. University Extension, in this context, constitutes an interdisciplinary, educational, cultural, scientific and political process, through which interaction is made possible that transforms not only the University, but also the social sectors with which it interacts. This text aims to record the implementation process and present experiences and advances in the insertion of extension in the undergraduate curricula of the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) and the Federal University of Pampa (Unipampa), in addition to highlighting how students perceive the impact of curricularization on their training. We understand that the university has a decisive role in economic, social and human development and that extension is based on dialogue and the sharing of knowledge, this is the only way social transformation and citizenship formation is possible.
