This article aims to discuss how foreign participation in the Revolta da Armada (1893-1894) was crucial for the victory of the Republic in Brazil. Sailors dissatisfied with the authoritarianism of President Floriano Peixoto engaged in a battle that challenged the legality of his mandate. It seeks to clarify how foreign interference prolonged the dominance of a political regime shaken by revolts and challenges.
