The purpose of the thematic booklet is to promote the debate about the training of teachers in undergraduate courses concerning the knowledge of teaching practice, curriculum, didactics, legal provisions and the orientation of the reformulation of the pedagogical projects of the courses of degrees.

We therefore intend, in this thematic booklet, to bring propositional approaches that discuss the implications arising from the indications of resolutions 2/2015 and 2/2019 for graduates of undergraduate courses, as well as the discussion of the curricularization of extension in undergraduate courses.

Resolution 2/2015 establishes several training principles: a) solid theoretical and interdisciplinary training; b) not dissociating theory from practice; c) social commitment and appreciation of the education professional; d) collective and interdisciplinary work; among others. We still have had significant research to evaluating the degree courses under the aegis of these principles, a new resolution 2/2019 was enacted with a logic that breaks with the principles recommended in the 2015 Resolution.

The 2/2019 Resolution came in the opposite direction to the principles advocated in the 2015 Resolution and has been seen by many as a step backward for initial training. It emphasizes initial training based on the BNCC, privileging the skills and technical knowledge of the graduates. Regarding these aspects, the following questions arise initially: What are the implications for the training of future teachers?

What knowledge is essential for this training? What are the challenges of the reformulations proposed from 2019 onwards and their impacts on the training of future teachers? We therefore expect, for compositing this notebook, research, theoretical articles, essays, interviews and reviews that have as their object of study the guiding documents for teacher education.

Contributions from international authors that enable a reflection on current teacher training policies can also be seen.
