Childhood education as a right: among art, culture and society

Abstract
Este texto apresenta uma resenha do livro Educação Infantil: Arte, Cultura e Sociedade, publicado em 2016, sob a organização de Magali Reis e Roberta Borges. A coletânea é composta por dezesseis capítulos, resultados de pesquisas em diversas áreas que dialogam com a educação das infâncias e/ou ensaios temáticos. Tomando por base o conceito de infância, compreendida como um ciclo próprio e singular da existência humana, propõe um amplo panorama dos diversos aspectos relacionados às infâncias brasileiras: políticas públicas, modos de ser e viver as infâncias, diversidade cultural, relações sociais (entre pares, com familiares e com professores), educação, participação, campos de potencialidades e de tensão que evidenciam a dívida que a sociedade tem com a pequena infância. A obra é dedicada ainda à pesquisadora Fúlvia Rosemberg [1942-2014], intelectual engajada em questões sensíveis dos direitos sociais, notadamente, na luta contra as desigualdades de gênero, raça e idade no Brasil.
