Abstract
Propõe-se para o presente o estudo da Educação Profissional sob a perspectiva do currículo, com base na legislação e tradição histórica do tema. Para a melhor compreensão, teoriza-se sobre a prática curricular, abordando-se as diferentes concepções de currículos e as classificações de posturas curriculares mais freqüentes no cotidiano da escola. Situa-se a influência da racionalidade técnica no currículo do Ensino Profissional e a força da postura tecnicista no contexto educacional brasileiro. O caminho para a mudança do paradigma do currículo perpassa pela noção de competência como eixo central do ensino profissionalizante.
