Digital information and communication technologies as a pedagogical strategy: a look at the experience of a Pedagogy course in times of pandemic
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper aims to share pedagogical strategies devised by a group of teachers attending the first term of a teaching course in Pedagogy at Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS). It is an experience report addressing the reality of a recent course that, in March 2020, had to cancel its calendar due to Covid-19 pandemic. This caused the group to seek for a means to keep and strengthen the institutional and affective bonds between teachers and students. In order to do that, different pedagogical strategies supported by digital information and communication technologies, such as WhatsApp, Google Meet and Instagram, have been employed. The results have evidenced that acting fast and paying attention to the human essence of our students have both prevented them from quitting and/or applying for intermission, and kept their proximity to each other.
