Bildung and pedagogy of the oppressed: analysis and reflection of the formative elements of praxis for liberty

Abstract

The paper aims to analyze the elements present in the work Pedagogy of the Oppressed from the concept of Bildung in the German perspective. This perspective contemplates the formation of the human being that involves his/her historicity and his/her transformation. The issues of the paper are: what are the elements present in the work Pedagogy of the Oppressed in regard to the formation of the human being and his/her praxis? How can the connection between the Bildung concept and the elements of Pedagogy of the Oppressed be established? The Hermeneutic Content Analysis method is used for the analysis and reflection of the elements of the work Pedagogy of the OppressedBildung as an educational praxis in the work Pedagogy of the Oppressed can be understood, then, as the process of acquiring knowledge or skills and as a transformation of the subject's connection with the world, with others and with himself/herself for the conquest of freedom.
