Historical-Critical Didactics: essential basis for class struggle in school education

Abstract

This review of the book entitled “Fundamentals of Historical-Critical Didactics”, was prepared in the context of the production of the 3rd Cycle of Studies at the Instituto Federal Goiano-Ceres, in partnership with the Federal Universities of RJ, Catalão and Goias (UNIRIO, UFCat and UFG). Organized by Galvão, Lavoura and Martins (2019), this work represents a robust synthesis of theoretical-practical assumptions that make it possible to understand the organization of teaching work in the light of Historical-Critical Pedagogy and Marxism and reveals to us that the Historical-Critical Didactics is that which identifies social practice as a starting and ending point, because through the movement from syncresis to synthesis, each singular individual can effectively incorporate the cultural instruments of human universality as a process of catharsis. To this end, it considers the mediating elements in the particular activity of pedagogical action – the action of problematization and instrumentalization.

Me. Leonardo Carlos Andrade, Federal Institute of Goiano - IFGoiano

Professor of Basic, Technical and Technological Education at the Federal Institute of Goiano (IFGoiano). President of the Center for Science, Art and Culture (NAIF) at IFGoiano. Master in Physical Education in the line of Pedagogical and Sociocultural studies from the Faculty of Physical Education and Dance at the Federal University of Goiás; Specialist in Psychology of Educational Processes from the Faculty of Education of the Federal University of Goiás; Specialist in School Education from the Federal University of Catalão; Degree in Physical Education Degree from the Federal University of Goiás and degree in Physical Education Bachelor's degree from Universidade Estácio de Sá. He has additional training in the field of Historical-Cultural Psychology, Historical-Critical Pedagogy and Social Theory; Coordinator of GEPEFI/UFG and General Coordinator of the Fundamentals of Integrated Secondary Education Study Cycle (IFGoiano); Member of the Capital and Value Theory Study Group (FE/UFG). Guest professor in the Postgraduate Course in Education and Human Rights at UFCAT and advisor in the Postgraduate Course in Human Movement at UEG. Ad Hoc reviewer in Brazilian scientific journals in the field of Education; Interinstitutional Coordinator of the Brazilian College of Sports Sciences (CBCE). Main themes of study: Historical-Critical Pedagogy, Fundamentals of Education, School and Physical Education.

 

 

 

Dr.ª Rosimeri da Silva Pereira, Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro - UNIRIO

She has a PhD in History of Education from UNICAMP (2013), a Bachelor's degree in Pedagogy (2000) and a Master's degree in Education (2006) from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul - UFMS, and is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Education at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro, working in the areas of History of Education, Politics and Educational Thought in Brazil. Linked to the Center for Studies and Research in the History of Brazilian Education (NEPHB/UNIRIO and the National Research Group History Society and Education in Brazil – HISTEDBR / UNICAMP. UNIRIO
