Abstract

From bibliographic research, this text presents the mapping of the academic production in the field of Education on the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The objective is to contribute to the reflection on the quantitative profile and the incidence of productions that take UNESCO as object and source of research. For that, the origin of UNESCO is addressed, with emphasis on the relationship and interference of the agency in Education, especially in Brazil. Based on that, the academic production regarding the topic under discussion is analyzed and quantitative data and the themes that emerge from the theses and dissertations that took UNESCO as object and theme of study are systematized. As a result, it is indicated that most investigations adopt a critical position about the international agency and that there is a lack of studies that address guidelines and orientations for Elementary School and High School.
